About the event
We will be clearing overgrown willow from a dune slack and then burning the willow in a bonfire.
Cutting down willow might sound a bit counterintuitive, but this habitat management helps to keep the dune slacks wet. This makes the dunes a better habitat for natterjack toads. It also allows wildflowers to grow, which in turn benefits butterfly species.
