About the event

Take part in ammonite polishing, make a fossilised sharks tooth necklace, view a range of fossils, search for dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures on our scavenger hunt, practice being a palaeontologist  by finding fossils in our sandpit, and take part in dinosaur-themed craft activities!

This event is suitable for all ages. Young children will love fossil hunting in the sandpit, while older children will enjoy working with real fossils. This is also a thought-provoking event for adults as we will learn about the tiny fraction of time for which Homo sapiens have been on Earth and reflect on the impact we have had on the planet on this time, and what we can do to safeguard our future.
