Irish Sea Day!
About the event
The Irish Sea Day is a free community event celebrating the diverse wildlife and natural heritage of the Irish Sea. This family-friendly celebration aims to raise awareness and appreciation for the importance of our coastal environments.
The event will feature a variety of interactive stalls and activities, including:
- Informative guided walks
- Rock pooling
- Sea-watching stations to observe marine wildlife
- Litter pick/beach clean to create a better coastal environment for all
- Coastal Wellbeing sessions
- Educational exhibits on the history, geology, and ecology of the Irish Sea
- Marine-themed arts and crafts workshops
- Information on responsible dog ownership and water safety
The Irish Sea Day will also feature a lively fancy dress parade where attendees of all ages are encouraged to come dressed up in marine-themed costumes and parade around the event to the sound of the amazing marching band. A "Wish Fish" station will allow participants to write their hopes and wishes for the protection of the Irish Sea on decorative fish shapes. Children can get creative at the arts and crafts tables, making vibrant marine creature masks, headpieces, and other accessories to wear and display during the celebratory parade.
To attend this event please book a general admission ticket for the number of people attending in your group (one ticket per person). If you would like to take part in any of the bookable workshops (rockpooling, guided walks, wellbeing sessions), please book additional tickets from the options. Each workshop is 45 minutes long and repeated three times throughout the event. Please note: the fancy dress parade will start at 1:30pm (from the event base) and finish at 2pm.
